Several children didn’t let the rain stop them from having fun with outdoor activities Friday.

The UMD Fun and Adventure Camp offers plenty of activities ranging from rock climbing to swimming to even making slime!

Friday morning, the kids explored with some science and say this camp is the highlight of their summer.

“It’s awesome because it’s very active, you make friends, the counselors are really nice and you get to experience different things,” said Hermantown 4th Grader, Dakota Rowan.

The camp began June 15th with different age groups of kids there each week and it ends next week.

Counselors say it’s a camp that helps the kids gain an appreciation for the outdoors.

“Their in the school all year round and we want them to come here and have an outlet for their energy and have a place to run around and have fun and meet new friends because that’s what summer is all about,” said UMD Summer Camp Counselor, Megan Majerle.

Nearly 20 kids showed up for this week’s camp.
