It’s been months in the making and this Saturday Lake Superior Bakehouse held its grand opening.
The shop is owned by a brother and sister.
The duo took over the former establishment known as Jitters Lake Superior Coffee and Tea House, a staple in downtown Duluth for nearly two-decades.
The Bakehouse held a soft opening in June.
Now, just months later the interior of the bakery has been revamped and the family has nailed down creative made-from-scratch recipes.
“People have really been digging our scones lately. I switch it up every day. We do savory scones, so some days it’s jalapeno poppers, some days it is cheddar bacon broccoli. People seem to really like the quiche,” said Co-Owner of Lake Superior Bakehouse Katina Petsoulis.
More improvement projects are planned for the winter.
