Proposed Townhome Development Denied

Councilors Revoke Planning Commission's Permit

It was a hot topic at Monday night’s Duluth City Council meeting, proposed townhomes going up in a neighborhood near UMD’s campus.

More than 30-people stepped up to the podium, many in opposition.

They voiced concerns over density issues, changing the look and feel of the single-family home neighborhood and increased issues with traffic.

Duluth City Councilors voted to revoke the Planning Commission’s special use permit so the development won’t be happening.
