Thursday night, the Carlton County Fair got underway, kicking off a milestone year.

The 125th celebration will include a shark tank, a magician, horse races, a demolition derby, and so much more.

Though there are no birds at this year’s Minnesota fairs, there will be goats, rabbits, and pigs.

Event organizers are hoping to bring 50,000 people to their grounds over the course of the weekend, and say it’s one of the best small–town county fairs in the area.

“It’s a family–oriented fair, it’s just been strong and it grows stronger and stronger, and you see little kids and moms and dads, grandmas and grandpas, tons of people come out for the fair,” said Carlton County Fair Manager, Allysha Sample.

The fairgrounds will open at 8 AM Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Entry is $7 for adults, $3 for kids ages 12 and under.
