Bemidji State University President to Retire Next Summer
The president of Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College says he plans to retire next summer.
The Star Tribune reports the northern Minnesota schools announced Tuesday that 65-year-old Richard Hanson will step down in June 2016.
He has served as president of both schools since 2010.
Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system chancellor Steven Rosenstone says a national search to replace Hanson will start in the fall.
Hanson has been in higher education for more than 40 years, including a stint as interim president of North Dakota State University.
