Community members gathered in Superior Saturday afternoon to raise funds for an after-school program.

Superior’s African Heritage Community hosted the event, in a mission to bring together the community.

All proceeds will go to the African Heritage and Cultural Endowment After-School Program which is offered for K-12.

“The first Monday is the learning objective and the second Monday is an interactive program where we’ll have guest speakers come in and do demonstrations like things from gospel music, African drum and dance,” said Superior African Heritage Community Spokeswoman Kym Young.

The program kicks off October 5th, at the Superior Public Library and will be held twice a month.
