It was a big weekend for horse enthusiasts in the Northland as they competed at the Dirt Floor Arena.

The arena is a non-profit located in Proctor.

Saturday it housed the fifth and final show of the Western Saddle Club “Buckle Series”.

“We do barrel racing, there is pole weaving where they weave a bunch of poles and come back. There is a speed dash which is literally just running around a barrel and coming back as fast as you can, it’s all about going as fast as you can,” said Dirt Floor Arena’s President Anna Christenson.

First and second place winners at the event qualified to run at a show at the Coliseum in the Twin Cities.
