Eric Johnson Announces Candidacy for MN House

Another candidate has announced he’s running for the Minnesota State House District 3-A seat.

Eric Johnson of International Falls says he brings years of experience to the table from owning and operating Voyageurs Outfitters Inc.

“I believe that my experience in business will be a great asset in St. Paul and across the district. Business owners are natural problem solvers. Problems are inevitable, when they arise they must be solved or you will be out of business, so I guess problem solving is just in my DNA,” he said.

Johnson is running under the Democratic Farmer Labor Party which will hold its primary election September 29.

Governor Mark Dayton has said the spot needs to be filled by December 8.

The 3-A seat was held by David Dill who recently died of cancer.

The two other candidates who announced their runs are Ely City Councilor Heidi Omerza and Koochiching County Commissioner Rob Ecklund.
