If you plan on heading to the state fair, there is a local connection to the Northland.

For the first time ever the state of Minnesota is allowing brewpubs to sell beer in the open market for these two weeks only.

Duluth breweries, including Fitger’s Brewhouse, will be setting up shop and letting the public head home with a taste of what they’ve got.

“I think it will continue to make – let’s say the Brewhouse – a destination stop as people go up north, but Duluth in general, a beer destination, absolutely, brew pubs are making great beer,” said Dave Hoops, Master Brewer at Fitger’s.

This legislation was a part of allowing growler sales on Sundays.
