More than 400 athletes put their endurance to the test in one of the fastest growing sports.
The 4th annual Superior Man Triathlon kicked off Sunday.
Early that morning, athletes jumped into the bay of Lake Superior to begin their epic journey.
They swam, biked and ran a total of 70 miles.
“You have both emotions at different times of the race, trust me,” race participant Mark Rauschenfels said. “But you say when you’re done oh I love this and when you start why am I doing this.”
Everyone took home silver medals.
Winners of every age group got an epicurean cutting board.
