Prior to Monday’s City Council a group rallied in favor of bike lanes.

The Duluth Bicycle Coalition held a group bike ride from Leif Erickson Park to City Hall where they held a press conference to discuss the details on their hope for a more bike friendly downtown in Duluth.

The Duluth Bicycle Coalition is a group that advocates for better bike policy, access and safety.

“We think the bike lane is important, obviously for biker safety. For people that ride bikes, it’s dangerous to be in the flow of traffic,” said Brad Nelson with Duluth Bike Coalition.

More than 150 bicyclists took part in the ride.
