Cooking Connection: Food Preservation

Sorry, this video is no longer available

Fall is just around the corner and many folks who have planted their own fruits and vegetables this year have more than enough! So, what can you do with your bountiful harvest?

Doug Hoffbauer, a local farmer known as “Farmer Doug,” stopped by FOX Sunrise to talk about different options.

He gave many tips on canning and preserving your fresh food.

He also suggested heading to the University of Minnesota’s website where they give tips on canning, freezing, pickling and more. (http://www.extension.umn.edu/food/food-safety/preserving)

He said the book he often references for tips is the Complete Book of Home Preserving by, Ball.
