Douglas County’s New Animal Shelter Set to Open

New Animal Shelter Ready to Open in Superior

The new animal shelter is about to open its doors in Superior.

The Douglas County Humane Society will open for the first time Tuesday.

Work began last September on the project that’s located at Bear Creek Park in Superior’s East End.

The 6,400 square foot shelter cost around two million dollars and is fitted with the finest equipment, a large recreation area, an adoption center and will offer medical services.

An open house will be held at the end of the month or in early October.
