UPDATE: State Patrol Identifies Victims of Itasca County Crash

Two people are dead after a crash in Itasca County.

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to Highway 46 at County Road 143 at 6:41 a.m. Tuesday.

A Chevy Camaro pulled onto the shoulder to initiate a u-turn, according to the state patrol.

A Chevy Trailblazer then hit the driver’s side of the Camaro in the northbound lane.

Both vehicles were originally going southbound on Highway 46.

The deceased are Cory Jones, 27, of Cass Lake and Jaclyn Howard, 21, of Deer River.

The driver of the Trailblazer is Derrick Cloud, 29, of Cass Lake who suffered non-life threatening injuries.
