A portion of Arlington Avenue, from Trinity road to the central entrance, will be closed to traffic.

It is expected to stay that way for 15 days.

Steve Krasaway, resident Engineer for St. Louis County, said that it is one of the larger projects of the year on one of the busiest roads in the county.

The work is part of a $2.6 million project on a road that is traveled by approximately 11,000 cars every day.

The project was originally scheduled for next year, but the county was able to move it to this year thanks to the transportation sales tax revenue funding $500,000 of the project.

Krasaway said he hopes the project is finished by the end of October, before the weather gets too cold.

The section of Arlington Avenue from Central Entrance to Arrowhead Road has been re-opened since last Friday.
