The chili was flowing and taste buds were put to the test Thursday night at the DECC.

Hundreds came out to the United Way’s 24th Annual Chili Cook–Off where 34 local businesses and non–profits each cooked up about 10 gallons of their best chili raising funds to serve the community.

“It’s kind of fun just to go to the other restaurants that are in Duluth and kind of poke fun at them and see what they’re doing and they come over here and poke fun at us. We’ve been in the business for quite some time now, coming up on our 20th birthday,” said Skye Tibbals with Fitger’s Brewhouse.

The public voted Valentini’s and Luthern Social Services as the People’s Choice.

Green Mill took first with their pizza chili in the Professional Division.

Minnesota Power claimed the Amateur Division.
