People from all over the Northland and beyond made the trip to Duluth Saturday to celebrate their catholic faith.

More than 2,000 people celebrated the 125th anniversary of the Diocese of Duluth.

With a special eucharis, Bishop Sirba led the procession from the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary to the DECC.

“I think we’re all excited, you know we got people of all ages,” Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary rector Father Peter Muhich said. “This is probably the largest gathering of Catholics in northern Minnesota in living memory.”

While walking the four mile trip, the group stopped three times to pray.

A mass was held later on at the DECC.
