The doors of the Morgan Park School were opened to the public one last time.

The Morgan Park Alumni Association held an open house at the vacant school Saturday.

Hundreds of former students, teachers and staff showed up to bid farewell to their old stomping ground.

The building is set to be demolished in the upcoming months to make for a $22-million dollar housing development.

“For everybody to come back and reminisce with their friends and look in the classrooms and try to go back in time,” explained Julie Lowe with the Morgan Park Alumni Association.

Construction for the new building is set to begin next spring.
