September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, suicide is the 10th leading cause for deaths in the United States.
“If there are friends, family members, acquaintances, anybody that might be suffering from those kinds of feelings and thoughts, to not be afraid to say something, and not be afraid to reach out, asking about suicide is not a cause of suicide behavior.” said Steve Sutherland, Chair of Behavioral Health for Essentia Health.
