Authorities Identify 18 Year Old Killed on Bong Bridge

Name of Person Killed on Bong Bridge Released

Authorities have released the name of the person killed on the Bong Bridge Monday at a construction site there.

According to the St. Louis County Medical Examiner’s Office, 18-year-old Kelsey Hagenson died as the result of multiple blunt force injuries due to a pedestrian -forklift mishap.

The medical examiner reports he died at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital Emergency Department at 8 a.m.

The Duluth Police Department and Minnesota State Patrol are investigating the incident.

Hagenson was employed by Lunda Construction and was working on the reconstruction project on the bridge run by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

One other person was injured during the incident.
