Students at Congdon Park Elementary School celebrated their green thumbs as part of the school’s 6th Annual Fall Harvest Festival.

In the spring, elementary students planted tomatoes with help from East High School students.

They watched them grow over the summer and showed off the fruits of their labor Thursday.

“To watch the student plant the seed and then watch that seed grow, and then obviously they’re able to harvest that tomato and then bring it back to school is just such a wonderful life learning opportunity,” said Kathi Kusch Marshall, principal at Congdon Park Elementary.

The school also has its own garden where students can pick items and eat them in the cafeteria during lunch time.
