Some Lake Superior beaches and shorelines got a little t.l.c.

For the annual Adopt-a-Beach cleanup volunteers picked up garbage and waste in an effort to protect and restore the Great Lakes.

“I think this Lakewalk especially on the shore of Lake Superior is used all the time by runners and families,” said Brittney Rohrer from the Kappa Psi from the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy. “It’s nice to keep it clean so that people can keep using it.”

The Kappa Psi from the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy picked up nearly 400 cigarette butts, pieces of foam and empty beverage cans between leif Ericson Park and Fitger’s.
