Kevin Honeycutt, a nationally known motivational speaker, visited Proctor High School to speak to faculty and staff.

The event was also open to the public.

Honeycutt places emphasis on using technology such as iPads to teach students.

He is also known to challenge educators to step outside of their traditional roles to inspire students to reach their full potential.

“Everyone from the bus drivers to the cooks to the janitors, everyone who comes in contact with kids matter,” Honeycutt said,  “And we all have a chance to connect with kids, and to support kids, and to mentor kids. I think in the past we thought as teachers as those people, but what we want to do is invite the entire district.”

The event had two parts – one in the morning from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and the other in the afternoon at 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
