An annual adventure cycling race is taking place this weekend.
The Heck of the North is back on Saturday, October 3.
It’s a 110-mile gravel bicycle race.
This year, a new event is being introduced in hopes to attract new people to the sport.
It will follow a 55-mile route over predominately gravel/dirt road with trail and stream crossing sections added for extra fun.
Race founder, Jeremy Kershaw, says there are two great spots to cheer on the racers.
He says you can catch them at the start of the race, or at the Lester Amity Chalet when they’ll be about halfway through the race.
The race will kick off at the Alger Grade parking lots, eight miles north of Two Harbors, on Highway 2 at 8 a.m.
For more information on the race, you can head to their website.
