Tuesday coffee lovers across the nation had reason to celebrate their java jolt.

Here in the Twin Ports, the Duluth Coffee Company celebrated National Coffee Day by thanking their regulars with a free cup of joe.

The shop roasts its own coffee beans, and distributes to cafes all across the Northland.

The owner says Tuesday was a day to celebrate the conversation coffee creates.

“Coffee – it’s a cultural thing and it’s a community thing,” said Eric Faust, Owner of the Duluth Coffee Company. “We cultivate the nature of that morning beverage or that afternoon break.”

Dunkin’ Donuts gave customers a free cup of coffee. Starbucks donated a coffee tree for every bag of joe purchased.
