Thursday night, the Duluth Art Institute showcased the international stars that are born in Duluth at the first in a series of six discussions called ‘Design Duluth.’

The program will celebrate and explore the ingenuity and design happening in our community.

Thursday’s meeting was held at Cirrus Aircraft, the top seller of small planes worldwide.

“It’s pretty amazing that Cirrus is designing planes right here, the designers are living and working here, they wake up and see the lake every day, so it’s just natural that that’s going to percolate throughout the work that they’re doing,” said Anne Dugan, Executive Director at the Duluth Art Institute.

The six discussions will lead up to a big exhibition next spring.
