In 2014 the library conducted a formal space use study as part of their strategic planning process.

They found that the study recommended moderate changes to their 48 year old building.

“It was remodeled about 25 years ago for library use and we just have come to the point where we would like to update our space and make it more 21st century for folks who are using our services.” said Susan Heskin, the library director at the Superior library.

The 3 phases include enlarging the youth services area, remodeling the local history room and building a new library entrance.
