US Bank Stadium to showcase millions of dollars in artwork

The new Minnesota Vikings Stadium won’t be the only thing to catch fan’s eyes once it opens next year.

The Star Tribune is reporting U.S. Bank Stadium will be home to an art collection that even museums may be envious of.

U.S. Bank Stadium will feature around 500 pieces of artwork, including 200 commissioned paintings, sculptures, digital and installation pieces, and 300 photographs.

The Minnesota Vikings and the family of the team’s owner, Zygi Wilf, are footing the bill for the art, which is said to cost several million dollars.

According to the Star Tribune, the artists having their work lining the new stadium were picked from more than 1,100 applicants by Sports & The Arts, a California-based company specializing in stadium projects.

All of the artwork will feature designs specific to the new stadium.
