Authorities Expanding Search for Three Missing Boaters
Authorities have expanded their search for three boaters that have been missing since Saturday on Lake of the Woods.
The Lake of the Woods County Sheriff’s Department says the search efforts have expanded to the Sturgeon Channel area on the lake.
A four-hour air search was done by the U.S. Border Patrol Air Unit. A foot search was also done on several shallow water areas near the shoreline of Flag Island.
Police say there is still no sign of the missing boaters, Keith Ayers, Cory Ostendorf and Justin Haugtvedt.
Their capsized boat was found on the lake Saturday. Three lifejackets were found floating in the water.
The men were last seen leaving Sunset Lodge on Oak Island late Friday night.
