Nearly 6,000 people packed in the Lake Superior Zoo Saturday for the annual Boo at the Zoo.

The event has been taking place for more than 20-years and helps to raise funds for the zoo to operate during the off-season.

Fall colors, warm temperatures and sunny skies drew large crowds to the all-day event, which offered a variety of family-friendly attractions.

“On the grounds today we have a magician who is kind of roaming street shows, we have a hayride, a pumpkin patch with a giant pumpkin. We have tons of food vendors, face painting and glitter tattoos and we have over 30–treat stations,” explained Lake Superior Zoo’s Special Events Coordinator Shana Vesel.

The winner of Saturday’s costume contest at the zoo was a family dressed as The Incredibles.

The fun continues next Saturday, October 17th
