A construction crane struck the 32nd Avenue East bridge in Duluth Tuesday morning, damaging the bridge.

Because of the damages,  crews will be out beginning at 3 p.m. to conduct an emergency bridge inspection.

32nd Avenue East between London Road and Greysolon Road will be closed to traffic during this time.

Local access to the drives below Greysolon will be allowed, as well as trail access across 32nd Avenue East.

Initial inspections do not indicate any danger to vehicles or pedestrians, however trains cannot run over the bridge at this time.

The road is expected to be back open by 7 p.m. Tuesday night.
