Hermantown K9 to Receive Protective Vest

Hermantown’s top dog will have extra protection out in the field thanks to a non-profit.

Tuuko, Hermantown Police Department’s four legged friend, will receive a bullet and stab protective vest embroidered with the words “This gift of protection provided by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.”

Non-Profit Organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is supplying Tuuko with the vest.

Tuuko has been with the Hermantown Police Department since March of 2015.

His handler, Officer Griffen Pfeiffer and the dog attended the St Paul Police K-9 Academy. They are certified in Patrol work and tracking.

The duo will be certified in Narcotics detection in November.

Vested Interest in K9s has provided more than 1600 protective vests to K9s in 49 states.
