Police Seeking Help in Locating Woman Missing in West Central Minnesota

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating a woman missing from west central Minnesota.

18-year-old Laura Schwendemann was last seen on Wednesday, October 14 in Alexandria, Minnesota.

Authorities say, however, that she may have traveled to an unknown location in rural Pope or Douglas County.

The Pope and Douglas County Sheriff’s Offices have teamed up in the search for Schwendemann.

They are asking hunters, farmers and property owners to keep an eye out for signs of anyone seeking shelter or anything out of the ordinary.   Police say there is a more specific interest in Holmes City and Solem in Douglas County and Nora, Ben and Wade in Pope County.

Authorities are also requesting assistance in locating a blue-colored residence with a statue, described as having blue clothing and a red hat, approximately three feet tall, near the end of the drive way.

They believe Laura might have been seen at this residence.

Laura is described as a white female,  5’05”, 125 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call the Douglas County Sheriffs Office at 320-762-8151 or the Pope County Sheriff’s Office at 320-632-5411.
