Septic Truck Driver Injured in Rollover

A septic truck driver was injured after his truck rolled into a ditch while trying to avoid a deer.

Authorities say 59-year-old Kent Nelson was traveling South on Highway 5 around 10:45 Monday morning.  Nelson was behind the wheel of his septic pumper truck when he swerved to avoid the deer. 

Nelson veered over to the shoulder and was unable to correct the vehicle.   The truck then rolled over into the ditch. 

No spills occurred from the vehicle. 

Nelson was taken by ambulance to Fairview University Medical Center- Mesabi in Hibbing with non-life threatening injuries. 

The accident remains under investigation.
