Sentencing Set for Woman in Lake Nebagamon Standoff Incident

Woman Set for Sentencing in Shooting Incident with Douglas Co. Authorities

A 23–year–old Lake Nebagamon woman has pleaded guilty to charges connected to a shooting incident and armed standoff with Douglas County authorities.

Jessica Gehl entered a no contest plea to four counts of first degree recklessly endangering safety.

Gehl was originally charged with three counts of attempted first degree intentional homicide and one count of recklessly endangering safety, however those charges were amended.

Authorities say last October her mother called for help after Gehl pulled a gun on her at their home.

When officers arrived they say Gehl exchanged gunfire with deputies.

Gehl was eventually shot by police and hospitalized with a minor injury.

Sentencing is set for December.
