Traffic: Single Lane Restrictions in Front of Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center Monday

Starting Monday, October 26, traffic along Third Street between Fourth and Fifth Avenue East will be restricted to one lane in front of Essentia Health-St Mary’s Medical Center. 

The single lane restriction is expected to last through Wednesday, October 28. 

The lane restriction is to continue work on the hospital’s pediatric solarium project that broke ground earlier this summer.  A large construction crane will be brought in, lifting steel beams from the street level to the hospital’s eighth floor. 

The crane will be placed just west of the Third Street Skywalk.   To have enough space for the construction team to safely operate, a half-block of sidewalk and six parking meters west of the St. Mary’s Third Street entrance will be closed off. 

The Emergency Department entrance at St. Mary’s Medical Center and the ambulance bay will remain open during construction.
