Police Speak to Man last seen with Missing Minnesota Woman

Investigators with the Pope and Douglas County Sheriff’s Offices have identified and spoken with the man last seen with a missing Minnesota woman. 

18-year-old Laura Schwendemann was last seen on October 15 at the Holiday Gas Station on 50th Avenue in Alexandria, Minnesota around 9:30 p.m. 

Police say Schwendemann left the gas station with a man she knew. They believe she did not voluntarily.  The duo left in a black 1997 Geo Prism with loud exhaust. Authorities believe they traveled around to unknown locations in southern Douglas County and northern Pope County during the late evening hours of October 14 and the early morning hours October 15. 

The Geo Prism was located, however police are still working to track down it’s wherabouts, specifically between 9:30 p.m. on October 14 and 10:30 a.m. on October 15. 

Police are searching for a specific point of interest where the two may have been that night.  They are looking to pinpoint the location of a blue house with a statue of a boy at the end of the driveway. The statue had on blue clothing and a red hat, and was near the end of a driveway. 

Ground and air searches have been conducted throughout the investigation.  

Schwendemann is described as being 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 125 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.  She is a student at the University of Minnesota-Morris. Schwendemann has lived in both and Hancock and Starbuck.
