Registration to Close for Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon

Runners hoping to get into the 2016 Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon only have a few more days to enter the lottery.

Lottery registration will close on Saturday, October 31 at 11:59 p.m.

Grandma’s Marathon officials opened registration early to runners this year.   The lottery is usually conducted in February, but was opened on October 1 to coincide with the registration launch of all three races featured during the 40th Grandma’s Marathon Weekend.

The lottery process will randomly select 7,500 runners.

Those selected to run the race will be notified through email during the week of November 2.

The entry fee for the race is $85 and is charged only to those runners selected from the lottery.

As for the full Grandma’s Marathon, more than 5,300 runners have signed up.

Entries are on a first come, first served basis and will be capped at 8,500 runners.

Registration is also open for the William Irvin 5K.  Nearly 1,400 runners have signed up. Registration will cap at 2,000 runners.

Grandma’s Marathon and the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon are on June 18, 2016.  The half kicks off at 6:15 a.m. with the full starting at 7:45 a.m.
