UMD’s Harden Pumped After TD Run

Senior Senior Defensive Lineman Scored Offensive Touchdown

Of the eight different Bulldogs to score touchdowns in last Saturday’s rout of Minnesota Crookston, the most surprising was probably Jonathan Harden.

Harden, a defensive lineman by trade, did his best impression of former NFL star William ‘The Refrigerator’ Perry, by plunging in to the end zone for a one yard score in the 2nd quarter.

It was only the second carry of the season for the senior, who says he “maybe scored a touchdown or two” in high school at Cretin-Derham Hall.

However, Harden was more than happy to take the ball and run with it, when coach Curt Wiese  and offensive coordinator Dan Larson called his number against Crookston.

“It was really cool,” said Harden.  “It was really cool to be able to get behind the offensive line and everything they do up front.  We were a pretty pumped group of boys after that.”
