Myers-Wilkens Elementary School turned into a community health resource fair for children and their families Wednesday.

According to organizers, families can experience disparities in their health and education outcomes based on family income and race, which is why having resources in one place at one time can help.

“It’s a step for families to really think about what is going to promote that healthy lifestyle and what are all those different factors. It’s different for every individual and it’s different for every family,” explained Kathy Bogen, an organizer of the Together for Health event.

A grant from the Minnesota Department of Health made the event possible.
