Authorities Identify Body Found in Chester Creek

St. Louis County authorities have identified a body found floating in Chester Creek as Kyle Noble, 22, of Baudette, Minn.

Noble, a student at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, was found floating in the water at Chester Park Drive and 8th Street around 1 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities said the incident does not appear to be suspicious.

UMD Vice Chancellor of Student Life and Dean of Students Dr. Lisa Erwin released the following statement:

“The campus is stunned and in mourning with the news that we lost a member of our University community today. We send our deepest condolences to the family and friends. Further communication will be sent to our campus community, including information on resources to help with the grieving process.”

The incident is under investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office.
