Drivers Should Expect Traffic Delays on the Blatnik Bridge

Routine Inspection to Cause Delays

The I–535/Blatnik Bridge over the St. Louis River between Minnesota and Wisconsin will undergo a routine bridge inspection from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, November 2 through Friday, November 6 and again Monday and Tuesday, November 9 and 10.

Superior–bound traffic will be restricted to a single lane during the inspection.

The ramp from northbound I–35 to southbound I–535 will close from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, November 9.

The ramp from southbound I–35 to southbound I–535 will close from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 10.

Motorists traveling on northbound I–35 may encounter alternating lane closures while the bridge inspection vehicle is positioned over the freeway lanes.

This work is weather–dependent and may be rescheduled.

Motorists are asked to be patient and drive carefully near the work zone areas.

Bridge inspections help ensure that bridges are reliable and safe for freight movement and as transportation routes.
