Hundreds of people dressed in black descended on The Depot Friday night for “All Souls Night”.
The celebration is modeled after several traditional events meant to honor the dead such as Mexico’s “Dios De Los Muertos” otherwise known as “Day of the Dead”.
People got together to dress as skeletons, have their faces painted and hold a Louisiana style funeral procession around the library.
“It’s a time to honor the dead and celebrate their presence in our lives,” said volunteer Laurel Saunders.
This was the 8th annual celebration.
Organizers hope to continue the tradition into the future.
