Abduction Suspect Arrested in Superior
Suspect, Victim Found in Super 8 Motel
Authorities have arrested a man accused of abducting another man at gunpoint in Sawyer County.
Todd Prochaska, 39, was taken into custody Saturday night in Superior at a Super 8 Motel.
Officers were able to locate the suspect through a phone being used by Prochaska that was pinging in the area of the motel and Gronk’s Grill and Bar.
The Sawyer County Sheriff’s Department said Prochaska was armed with a pistol at the time.
Super 8 employees told authorities Prochaska’s wife, Noelle, had rented a room along with two men, according to Superior Police.
Officers immediately set up a perimeter securing the room in question.
A phone call was made into Prochaska’s room, three people came out and surrendered to police, according to Superior Police.
All three are from the Sawyer County area.
Authorities say the victim, Justin ‘Gus’ Hill, 40, was among the group and had sustained injuries.
He was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
The suspect and his wife were turned over to investigators with the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Department.
The multi-agency investigation involved officers from the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office, Washburn County Sheriff’s Office, Rusk County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and City of Superior Police Department
