St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office Searching for Possible Missing Hunter

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a possible missing hunter.

Police and the St. Louis County Rescue Squad were called around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon to the Elephant Lake area, north of Orr.

According to Sergeant Nate Skelton with the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, the search was initiated after several hunters reported hearing three shots in succession, multiple times.

Skelton says the shots are indicative of most people when they become lost while hunting.   It notifies people within hearing range that they are lost nearby.

The Sheriff’s Office wants to make it clear that no one has been reported missing and the search is precautionary due to the number of hunters who heard the shots.

This is a developing story and we will have more information as it becomes available.
