Suspect Charged in Aurora Murder

Aurora Man Charged with Murder

An Aurora man is now charged with the murder of his former girlfriend.

Fifty-one year old John Plevell is now facing one count of second degree murder.

Plevell is accused of shooting 49-year-old Julie Hildreth of Aurora outside of the American Legion Sunday night.

During his first court appearance Thursday his bail was set at $1,000,000 and he asked for a public defender.

A vigil is set for Saturday night at the American Legion in Aurora at 6 p.m. for Hildreth.

The city of Aurora will also have a grief counselor at city hall for anyone who would like to attend in light of the shooting Friday at 2 p.m.
