UMD’s Swenson College of science and engineering recognized their own female student athletes at the bulldog women’s hockey game.

Being a student athlete can be very time consuming. Add on to that a science major and things could get stressful, but according to one volleyball player/ biology major, she gets plenty of support from the school.

“Being part of the Swenson science college is really great. All of my teachers have always been so accommodating being a student athlete,” said Ashley Hinsch, senior volleyball player at UMD.

There are 48 women currently pursuing science, math and engineering degrees at Swenson that also participate in varsity sports.
