Duluth Businesses Prepare for Window Display Contest
Greater Downtown Council Sparks Friendly Rivalry
You may notice a lot of red curtains up in the windows in downtown Duluth this week.
23 downtown businesses are competing in this year’s window display contest.
The curtains are hiding the set up process, and the displays will be unveiled this Friday at the Christmas City of the North parade.
Those with the Greater Downtown Council say they’re trying to spark some friendly competition among the businesses participating.
“It showcases our downtown small businesses and provides a festive environment throughout the downtown waterfront,” said Special Events Coordinator Darlene Marshall.
This is the tenth year downtown Duluth has had the window display contest.
You can vote for your favorite at any participating business.
The businesses that are participating are:
Art in the Alley, Bagley & Co., CSL Plasma Services, Duluth Pack, Duluth Trading Company, Electric Fetus, Engwall’s Peterson Anderson Flowers, Fitger’s, Grandma’s Saloon & Grill, Greater Downtown Council, Happy Space, Kitchee Gammi Design Co., Lake Superior Art Glass, , Liliana/Broken Broom, Meadowlark Floral Art Studio, Minnesota Power, Minnesota Surplus & Outfitters, PS Rudie, Ragstock, Security Jewelers, Studio 15, Visit Duluth, and the YMCA
