Damiano Center Awarded $10K Grant
The Damiano Center, a local non-profit helping those in need,was recently awarded a $10,000 grant.
The grant was made possible by sending out a simple tweet through the Deluxe Corporation Foundation *Short & Tweet” Grants Program.
In honor of their 100th anniversary, the corporation replaced a grant application with a tweet.
The Damiano Center is one of 10 recipients in nine states to receive a grant.
“We received more than 900 nominations from nonprofits across the country, nonprofits that work tirelessly to improve their communities and enrich lives,” said Amanda Brinkman, cCief Brand and Communications officer for Deluxe, “The Damiano Center stood out as an organization whose work in providing services to Duluth’s most at-risk residents sets the example for great nonprofit work. We are proud to award them a $10,000 grant.”
The crisis center in downtown Duluth helped distribute more than 100,000 meals and 450,000 clothing items to those in need last year.
