When Thanksgiving and Bowling Combine
Kids were bowling for turkey, with turkey, Wednesday.
The Duluth Parks and Recreation Department teamed up with the Heritage Sports Center and several local businesses to host an open skate with lots of kid friendly fun.
In addition to ice skating, kids were allowed to bowl on the ice, using a frozen turkey breast as the ball.
Every strike was rewarded with a ticket that could be entered in a drawing for whole turkey at the end of the night.
Three different turkeys were given away during Wednesday night’s event.
Kids were also able to take part in a coloring contest, and meet military service members during the free skate.
A station for children to send holiday cards to service members overseas was also made available.
